To the general public in our area:
We understand that the designers behind the Pokemon GO game have decided to use our station as a point of interest in the game. Although we do appreciate the advertising, this has come to cause issues around our station. We have had players nearly hit by some of our responders, we have had players taking up parking spots during emergencies where members are responding and need a place to park, and noticed more traffic in front of the station. With these issues, we have sent a request in to have our station removed from the Pokemon GO game. We are unsure of the timing involved in the modification; but are hoping for a swift resolution.
We feel this is in the best interest in the safety of our members and visitors.
As a reminder; the driveway isn’t a road connecting South Main Street and 257. The driveway is designed for Fire Department usage only.
